It has been said that Matthew was a legend in his own lifetime. He certainly had many many friends and was often the one to be sought out for advice and companionship in times of trouble. He possessd a wondeful balance of humour and sincerity; however you were feeling Matt could be there with you, he had a way of making everyone feel special. Inventive and creative, Matthew enjoyed playing guitar and working with wood. He had been a volunteer with the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers for a number of years and had recently completed a countryside management course at Warwickshire College. He made some beautiful objects and had gained many skills. A real child of nature, Matt loved nothing better than to be out fishing with his best friend, being in the woods or swimming in the sea. Matthew definitely had a way with words. We will continue to be blessed with memories of things he said to us, jokes we shared, the things he loved, and also the love that he gave and the love that he inspired in his family and friends.
